To fix missing TV guide data using EPG Collector, you must ensure that your tuner parameters match your local broadcast frequencies and that the extracted data maps correctly to your media center software. EPG Collector is a powerful tool that extracts Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) data directly from over-the-air (OTA) or satellite broadcast streams (like PSIP, EIT, or MHEG5) and outputs it as an XMLTV file or imports it directly into media software.

Follow these steps to resolve missing TV listings, fix database corruption, and automate the updates. Step 1: Clear Corrupt Media Center Database

If your TV server or Windows Media Center (WMC) shows “No Data Available” despite running collections, a corrupt database often blocks new updates.

Open EPG Centre (the graphical interface included with EPG Collector). Click Run in the top menu bar. Select Windows Media Center Maintenance.

Click Clear the Programme Guide. This deletes stuck or broken guide schedules while leaving your core channel configuration safe. Step 2: Configure Tuning Frequencies Accurately

EPG Collector will fail to gather data if it scans the wrong transmitter frequencies.

Go to File > Create Collection Parameters and select Custom. Navigate to the Tuning tab.

Choose your correct broadcast standard tab (e.g., DVB Terrestrial, DVB Satellite, or ATSC). Select your exact country and region/transmitter.

Click Add to populate the frequency list. If your specific local tower is missing, manually look up its frequency and add it to the list. Step 3: Fix Channel Mapping Issues

Data is often collected but fails to appear because the channel IDs do not match your media player’s channel list.
